DRTA National Conference 2019
Conference Q & A
Is there an early bird price for non-members?
Non-members can now get early bird rates as well! As a small not for profit – we are the professional body for DRTs and leisure & health workers – we support our members first and foremost (we receive no funding from any other source) by giving them excellent discounts at our conferences and workshops. Individuals who hold at least the minimum qualifications in the field are eligible for membership (not organisations). If you have staff who hold the Cert IV in Leisure & Health or the Uni Assoc Deg Hlth Sc (Leisure & Health) or Therapeutic Recreation – they would be eligible to join. This gives enormous discounts to Conference and to the one day workshops we hold around Australia each year plus login access the website resources – which are growing all the time! Well worth it! Membership is tax deductible for individuals or organisations who pay this fee on behalf of the member (although the membership belongs to the individual).
WIll there be a Pre-conference workshop?
There will be a workshop before the conference and Yes! you can come to the Workshop if you are not registering for the Full Conference!
- Can I bring a guest to the Cocktail Party?
Additional Tickets are required to bring guests to the Cocktail Party or to attend Cocktail Party on Day Rate (which does not include Conference Cocktail Party ticket)
- In what time frame does the conference book out?
This varies and we will post details soon - but it is a great idea to join DRTA first then register for the conference; you receive discounted admission to the conference… and a year to sample the membership benefits… DRTA Conference is inspiring, uplifting, packed full of ideas and knowledge – practical and academic – it should “stretch” you professionally – supporting you to go out of your comfort zone in thinking about their practice….
- Would it be safe to wait until the program is out to book on the basis of the relevance to our needs?
We hope the programme will be out by the middle of July … yes it should be fine to wait till then. We usually have multiple bookings coming in from Japan and NZ – so that is a bit unknown in qty – you should be fine but no guarantees. There are multiple speakers each day of the Conference with 2 streams to choose from for the middle of the day… it’s unlikely there won’t be something that will interest you…
- What is the content of the pre-conference day?
The Pre-Conference Workshop is just that – not a Conference but a Workshop day. Yes you can attend workshop only this year!
