Diversional and Recreation Therapy Australia Award
Thank you once again for your support of our students and the University through the Diversional and Recreation Therapy Australia Award.

Prizes like yours mean so much to our students and their families. The encouragement they receive from your support will motivate them to continue to strive for excellence.

Please find below a message of thanks from the recipient.

“I'm a health science graduate who firmly believes in the idea that everyone has the right to enjoy quality, health enhancing leisure experiences. My Bachelor of Health Science (Therapeutic Recreation) has allowed me to take part in a variety of amazing experiences, from implementing an eight week reminiscence program for a male in residential care, to running regular Fighting for Autism boxing sessions at a local PCYC. My future goal is to build upon my knowledge in reminiscence therapy, and implement it within a variety of environments, from residential care to community based settings.

Receiving these awards is an incredible privilege for me, in that I feel they a reflection on the fact that my mentors at Western Sydney University have recognised my passion for this degree, and were kind enough to nominate me. Receiving these awards from their generous donors will serve to fuel my passion for my chosen field even further, and will inspire me to continue my learning and development for many years to come.”
