Hello Members,

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and new year, and have returned to work refreshed and energised for the year ahead.

To start of 2017 off with a bang… We have the ‘Workshop on the Waves’ DTA Cruise happening the beginning of February. Skills Training Australia will be providing Mental Health Skill Set training, while sailing down to the beautiful Kangaroo Island. I will be going in the cruise and am looking forward to catching up with members and having a relaxing time away. Look for reports on how the cruise went in the next edition.

The DTA Board has been busy planning the roll out of CST Training. DTA will be offering 1 day workshops on stage 1 of CST, which has proven benefits on cognition, social interaction and wellbeing for those with mild to moderate dementia. We now have a CST Training tab up on the website contain information on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy. Please take a look and register your interest in the training.

The 2017 Workshop calendar is now available. Please see the ‘events’ section on the website for details on upcoming workshops and to register. The workshop are a great way to update your knowledge and current practice, earn PD points and network with your DT peers. If you have any suggestions for training and educations, please contact us. We are always looking for more education opportunities for our members.
